MEET KRISTA, SKINNY SCOOP COMMUNITY MANAGER & BLOGGER
This post is part of a guest series written by @Em_Events.
——————————————————————————-

Krista Gray is the Community Manager at SkinnyScoop.com and a lifestyle blogger. She loves to express her love for beautiful things and things that make her happy. She began blogging like a true nerd at the age of 12 and has continued to do so on and off for more than 10 years. Blogging has been a great way for her to keep her friends and family in the loop but more importantly, it gives her a creative outlet.
Even though her blogging is a creative outlet, Krista finds this can also be the biggest challenge; being overwhelmed with too many inspirations but also feeling stale and uninspired but wanting to post. Krista’s favorite thing about blogging is having a place that she can direct her friends and family to. Blogging has given her the chance to meet some amazing people in her travels, and her blog enables them to stay in touch.
So what’s her advice to new up and coming bloggers?
Be authentic and share what you love. Don’t be afraid to reach out, say hello or shamelessly plug your efforts!

MEET KATY OF MODLY CHIC
This post is part of a guest series written by @Em_Events.
——————————————————————————-
Katy Rose is a personal style and inspirational fashion blogger. She has been blogging in one form or another since she graduated college with a degree in Journalism. She began as a social commentary blogger, but found her true calling in fashion. After moving from New York to a small town outside St. Louis, she knew her time had come to test new waters and dove right in.
She launched ModlyChic in Spring of 2009 but got serious about it in January of 2010. Her blog became successful with the support of the blogging community. Katy reveals “The community which grew slowly, and then seemed to explode overnight, gave me the chance to connect with a lot of other bloggers. The group works to help those just beginning with useful tips. We support one another in copyright battles, sponsor drama and all sorts of blog-related issues.”
So what is Katy’s favorite thing about blogging?
The sense of community and turning her passion for writing into a daily hobby, of course! While the community is great, there of course have been challenges along the way. Some of Katy’s hardest challenges have been dealing with rude readers, blog haters, and switching to Wordpress. Despite these challenges, Katy’s advice to new bloggers is that there is no quick model to success and recognition. Stop checking analytics and spend that time working on perfecting your blog and getting it to the place where you want it to be. If you’re not happy with it, your readers won’t be either!

MEET FOOD PHOTOGRAPHER, KRISTIN

This post is part of a guest series written by @Em_Events.
——————————————————————————-
Kristin Teig is a talented photographer. Her blog serves as an extension of her portfolio and a place to put her personal work that may not have a home on her regular site. She believes her work is always evolving and would eventually like to include behind-the-scenes posts from her shoots.
So what inspired this lovely lady to blog?
She loves dissecting magazine layouts and has always wanted to piece together her own images and create stories. Kristin believes that doing this has helped her with her photography. She is always thinking of how images can be grouped together to give a larger picture of her vision. Kristin started blogging about four years ago and has found that the hardest part is blogging on a regular basis when she gets busy.
Despite the difficulties that lie ahead, she offers this advice to new bloggers “decide what the point is, what you really want to share, and create your own standards for yourself.” You may be inspired by a particular type of blog, but that may not be the type of blog yours is! Find your calling and release your passion.

MEET LYNZY OF SPARKLING FOOTSTEPS

This post is part of a guest series written by @Em_Events.
——————————————————————————-
Lynzy Carey is a personal style blogger that encompasses trends, workout tips, attire and wedding planning. She wants to encourage women who love fashion to believe that skinny is not what makes someone a great model or a good fit for fashion. She loves to encourage women to be strong and workout on a daily basis. Lynzy became inspired to blog from her work in the emergency department of a hospital. She has always loved fashion and thought that the blog was a great way to incorporate her creative side into her busy life and it’s much more glamorous than a day in scrubs.
The hardest part for Lynzy is that blogging can sometimes feel a bit like high school. There are cliques and those who can believe that they are better than everyone else. So how do you escape the virtual halls of high school? She recommends finding those that are true and blogging for the right reasons. Despite this, her favorite thing about blogging is the community around it.
So what is this fashionista’s advice for new bloggers?
Be true to who you are and what you want to post about. For those interested in fashion, wear what you want and try to venture from what people would expect. Find your niche that separates you from the rest!
